Colorado Supreme Court Registration Rules  at Rule 227.A.(6)(b) provides that upon a lawyer's filing a notice to transfer to inactive status, the lawyer temporarily discontinues the practice of law in the state, and pays a reduced annual registration fee (1/4 of active member's fee) and makes annual reports , but (7) upon asking to be transferred back to active statutes "transfer to active status shall be granted" upon payment of the active member's annual registration fee for that year.
